Nueva Vida Food Project
Our mission is to serve all who come to our door with care and respect, and to help them get the food and basic essentials they need. We are looking for volunteers on Tuesday evenings, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturdays, from 11 AM to 3 PM, to load carts of groceries to distribute to our food bank clients. No special language skills are needed for cart loaders, just a giving heart! We do have a need for bilingual volunteers to serve as greeters during our food serves. Our staff will be present to guide you, so it is fine to volunteer as a greeter even if you are not totally fluent.
We also need volunteers to help unload our delivery truck and stock our food bank shelves. The hours for these delivery shifts are Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9 AM to 1 PM. This role does involve some heavy lifting and bending, but we always share the weight and work as a team. We could not do the important work of feeding our neighbors in need without the help of volunteers, so we thank you in advance!
You must be 18 years or older to volunteer. Otherwise, you will need a parent or guardian to sign the waiver with you. Volunteers 16 or younger will need a parent or guardian present on site. When you arrive, please take time to fill out both the new volunteer waiver form.
