Become a Community Partner

The Hands On Community Partner Program engages nearly 170 nonprofits, schools, government agencies, and other civic organizations working to help meet a variety of needs in our community. Members of the Community Partner Program get access tools to recruit and manage volunteers, support to help reimagine volunteer potential, and elevated visibility for their service opportunities and missions through Hands On social media channels and email newsletters.

Not interested in a full membership? Utilize our one-time/limited time self-serve posting option for minimal or intermittent volunteer needs. 

Partner benefits

  • Technology: Post, manage, and track volunteer opportunities via an online calendar at HON.org, which is accessed by nearly 15,000 unique visitors per month.
  • Training: Volunteer program troubleshooting, brainstorming, technical support, and community partner consulting sessions led by Hands On's volunteer management experts.
  • Increased visibility: Highlights volunteer events, in-kind donation requests, and court-ordered referral needs to 160,000+ ‘friends’ and followers via Hansd On's website, social media, and newsletter.

Partner process

  1. Schedule a meeting with our Community Partner team.

  2. Submit your designation by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or faith-based organization with a profile on GivingMatters.com. Or, submit your status as a school, government agency, hospital, hospice or senior living facility.

  3. Submit your liability insurance that includes coverage for volunteers.

  4. Complete your annual membership payment. Memberships are based on your annual operating budget and range from $200 to $600.

Hands On may waive partnership fees following disasters, public health crises, or other specific issues facing our community. Complimentary Partners are still required to share a COI and sign Hands On’s partnership agreement, accepting these nondiscrimination policies prior to posting.

  • Hands On is committed to developing our organization and programs to reflect our belief that our community is powered by people of all ages, races, ethnicities, skin tones, ages, sexes, genders, sexualities, national origin, religions, abilities, and socioeconomic statuses engaging in service together. Partners agree to join Hands On in its commitment to non-discrimination.
  • Hands On does partner with both religious institutions and government entities, as well as nonprofit organizations. Partners seeking membership must not withhold services based on membership or religious affiliation/participation. Any projects listed on hon.org must benefit the community and not discriminate based on religious belief or affiliation. Activities not appropriate for Hands On volunteers include proselytizing, any direct religious activity, or political campaigning.
