Basic Tech Skills Volunteer

We’re looking for friendly, tech-savvy volunteers to support our Tech Goes Home program, helping bridge the digital divide for adults aged 60+. Volunteers will assist participants in learning basic computer skills using Chromebook. The class will cover the basics, from email and internet safety to Google tools and online searches. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by empowering others with basic digital skills. If you’re patient, encouraging, and available from 1:00–4:00 PM on select dates in May, we’d love to have you join us!

What would I be doing?
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic internet and Wi-Fi issues
  • Skilled in guiding participants through tasks using leading questions rather than completing tasks for them
  • Comfortable assisting with topics such as:
    • Copy and paste
    • Email (Gmail)
    • Internet safety and security
    • Online searches and accessing resources
    • Screenshots and photos.
If you are comfortable working with older adults (age 60+) with limited computer experience and have basic familiarity with Google Chromebooks and Google Workspace. We would love some help running this program!
