Lunar New Year Celebration With Chinese Arts Alliance!
Lunar New Year 2026 is the Year of the Horse. The horse symbolizes vitality, perseverance, warm-heartedness, and success!
Come Celebrate Chinese New Year while Promoting & Preserving Centennial Park!
Help us assist the Chinese Arts Alliance with staffing their 11th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration in the Park!
Here are the types of activities available to participate in (let us know if there are activities you have special skills in, or would especially like to do!):
- Arts & Crafts Stations (require paper folding, cutting skills, working with kids and adults)
- Workshop Station support (support instructors for TaiChi, Chinese Yo-Yo, Calligraphy)
- Stage support (monitor backstage entrances, line up performers)
- Greeter/guide (sharing program with audience, directing people where to go)
- Distributing Park Surveys for the Conservancy
- Event Set-up, Teardown and Cleanup
YOU MAY SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE SHIFTS AS LONG AS YOU STAY FOR THE DURATION OF ALL SHIFTS YOU ARE ASSIGNED!
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
- Dress for the weather and wear closed-toe shoes. School logo-wear encouraged :)
- Bright red is the traditional color for good luck on Lunar New Year - wear some red if you can!
Centennial Park Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with Nashville’s Metro Parks to support Centennial Park and the Parthenon. We preserve, enhance and share the Parthenon and Centennial Park so that all future generations may benefit from these enriching cultural and educational landmarks.
