DVL Training - Level 1 Disaster Volunteer Leader Orientation
When disaster strikes, Hands On organizes and manages volunteer projects, and provides support to the grassroots organizations on the ground providing critical relief and recovery services in the affected neighborhoods. We rely on trained Disaster Volunteer Leaders to coordinate these efforts to make our disaster response as effective and efficient as possible. From leading volunteers as they clear debris to helping our team with administrative tasks, we need leaders like you to help us meet the unforeseen needs of survivors in our community.
This 60-minute orientation will cover:
- Hands On's role and responsibilities in a disaster
- The role of a Disaster Volunteer Leader (DVL)
- Disaster Program Guidelines and Expectations
- An introduction to personal disaster preparedness
- Next steps on how to complete the DVL Pathway
