Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - General Help 2025-2026
Each year The United Way of Greater Nashville operated dozens of sites to provide free tax prep and electronic filing to low- to moderate-income taxpayers. The program is called VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and each year VITA volunteers help file over 10,000 returns.
Volunteers are needed before and during the tax season (November through April) for a variety of non-tax return related positions:
- Running Supplies
- Organizing
- Maintaining Files
- Making Copies
- Delivering Messages
- Clerical Work
