DVL Training - Stop The Bleed
Hands On is excited to offer a Stop the Bleed training in partnership with the Vanderbilt Division of Acute Care Surgery. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign intended to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
The purpose of this training is to equip Disaster Volunteer Leaders with additional skills to prepare them for such an emergency. Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
Here is more information about the course: A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes. Thus, it is critically important to quickly stop blood loss. Those nearest to someone with a bleeding injury can make a life-saving difference, if they are adequately trained to provide care. This course offers training in basic bleeding control techniques such as direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application. The course is appropriate for both the general public and healthcare providers. You can still sign up if the opportunity is full; however, you will be added to the waitlist and will fill any spots that become available. We are very happy to be able to offer this training, and we look forward to seeing you there!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 16+, Minimum Age:18+
