Create Seed Packets for the 2026 Seed Exchange

The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center's annual seed swap with the library and master gardeners is coming up soon! The naturalists at the Nature Center need help packaging, sorting, and labeling seeds for this free event.

What will volunteers be doing?
Volunteers will help separate seeds from dried flowers, create and stamp packaging, and sort seeds into envelopes. This event will be laid-back and inside the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. Please wear whatever is most comfortable for you.

What is the community impact of this event?
Your service will go directly to the dispersal of native seeds to the public! If you'd like to learn more about the Seed Exchange program, you can read about it here on the Nashville Public Library's website: https://library.nashville.org/events/seed-exchange

Accessibility:
This event will be held inside of the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, which has seating, restrooms, a water fountain, and plenty of parking out front.

Next Steps:
Once you sign up, you'll receive an email a day before the event with more on parking, expectations, and contact information.
