Home fires claim seven lives every day, but you can help change that by serving on a team providing home fire education and free smoke alarm installations. Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fire in half. In Tennessee alone last year, the Red Cross installed over 4,500 free smoke alarms and along with providing fire safety information, serving nearly 3,000 households. Experience a rewarding day connecting with other volunteers and the families you’ll help.
No prior experience is necessary; we will provide a brief training on the morning of the event. While all volunteers will have to register in volunteer connection, this is an event where friends and family can also participate (youth ages 13-15 may volunteer only with a parent/legal guardian present).
