Collection Assistant - Looby Branch Library

Are you detail-oriented, love being around books, and enjoy keeping things organized? The Looby Branch of Nashville Public Library is looking for a dedicated Collection Assistant Volunteer to help keep our shelves in top shape and our collections engaging and accessible for everyone!

As a Collection Assistant, you’ll support the organization, maintenance, and presentation of the library’s materials. Typical tasks include:

  • Straightening shelves and displays (also known as shelf-reading)
  • Pulling or organizing materials for themed displays
  • Checking for damaged or misplaced items
  • Assisting with inventory or special collection projects
  • Preparing materials for circulation (labeling, stamping, etc.)

We’re currently looking for someone available midweek—Wednesdays or Thursdays—to help during regular library hours.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves libraries, values community service, and wants to make a real impact behind the scenes.
If you're interested in joining our volunteer team at Looby, we’d love to hear from you!
