Shelving Assistant - Looby Branch Library
Do you enjoy organizing, working behind the scenes, and being surrounded by books? The Looby Branch of Nashville Public Library is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shelving Assistant Volunteer to help keep our shelves neat, accurate, and accessible to the community.
As a Shelving Assistant, you’ll play an important role in making sure library materials are returned to the right place and easy for patrons to find. Your support helps the library run smoothly and ensures everyone has a great experience.
Typical Tasks Include:
- Shelving returned books, DVDs, and other materials
- Making sure items are in proper Dewey Decimal or alphabetical order
- Shifting items to create space on crowded shelves
- Shelf-reading to identify and correct misfiled items
- Reporting damaged or missing materials
