Amqui Station Farmers Market - Info Booth & Tear Down

The Amqui Station Farmers Market is held every Sunday from 10AM-1PM from May through October.  Our mission is to support local farmers, artisans, and craftspeople, and to encourage the public to buy from local small businesses to help foster a sense of community.

The assistance of multiple volunteers are vital for support of each market day and help is needed in many areas including:
  • 12PM – 2PM: Info Booth & Tear-Down (2-4 Volunteers)
  • Help close out the day strong. You’ll continue greeting guests and then help us with light tear-down—tables, chairs, and supplies back to storage. Quick and easy with helping hands!
  • Please visit our vendors when you are done volunteering. They would love to see you!
The Amqui Tennessee Passenger Station and Signal Tower was built by the Louisville & Nashville Railroad in 1910. Typical of southern station designs found in the region, it had deeply over-hanging eaves supported by triangular knee braces, had an agent-operator’s office and baggage room, engine room, battery room, second-story signal operator’s room, and passenger waiting rooms. Johnny Cash often visited the signalmen at Amqui Station during the 1970s. He acquired the old train station in 1979, saving it from demolition.

Today, the station has been restored for a museum and educational center. A visitor’s center and pavilion have also been added for special programs and events, such as a weekly farmers market from May through October, Madison Monster Market, and Holiday/Winter Markets.
