Women’s Health and Education Fair
At Ascension Saint Thomas we commit ourselves to serving all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Our ministry is dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care that sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words.
Through this event we hope to engage 500+ people, and are working to make healthcare education actually fun; breaking down barriers to preventative care; supporting community wellness initiatives; providing immediate access to health screenings; and creating real connections between women and healthcare providers
Needs for this event differ based on the shift:
1-3:30pm Shift 1- pre event set up, assisting with table and chair set up, table cloth placement, number card placement, runners for Saint Thomas committee, wayfinding for vendors; assisting in pre event set up with vendors as needed, signage placement
3:00-5:30pm Shift 2- pre event set up, assisting with table and chair set up, table cloth placement, number card placement, runners for Saint Thomas committee, wayfinding for vendors; assisting in pre event set up with vendors as needed, signage placement
5pm-7:30pm Shift 3- During event need: attendee greeters, for clinical interns can also work health journey check in table; wayfinding; multi-entry points for directions
6pm-8:30pm Shift 4- Rotate other volunteers out from shift 3 roles; rapid fire take down; time limited on when event venue needs all items down and out of building; tearing down signage, tables, chairs, etc; general post event clean-up
Volunteers serving pre event should wear comfy shoes, as you will be will on your feet decorating, moving items etc. Volunteers during the event should wear happy hour casual, professional attire. The actual event is 5pm-8pm.
