Free Community Recycling Roundup (Hendersonville) #spring
We invite you to join Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) for our Clean Up, Drive Through, Drop Off, Recycling Roundup. We will collect recyclable materials like mattresses, tires, electronics, Styrofoam, and other hard-to-recycle materials. Support our efforts as we work to keep materials that can be recycled out of our landfills and off our streets.
Tasks will include: Helping with event setup, directing the flow of event traffic, collecting, unloading, and sorting materials from attendees, surveying attendees, and passing out educational materials.
Event Time: 9 am to 1 pm (Local time)
Volunteer Shift 1: 8 am - 11 am
Volunteer Shift 2: 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
***Recycling Roundup volunteer opportunities are open to people ages 10+. Those between the ages of 10-14 must be accompanied by a guardian. ***
TEC will provide lunch and water in a large Igloo. We will also provide nitrile and work gloves, safety glasses, and safety vests on site. Help us reduce our waste and bring a reusable water bottle! Please consider bringing a chair if you want to sit at your station.
Important: It is important that volunteers dress appropriately for their volunteer position so that they can fulfill their duty safely and comfortably. We recommend wearing closed-toed, comfortable shoes and would appreciate it if all volunteers would refrain from wearing anything that displays obscene language, offensive materials, and/or political views while representing our organization. Unless there is severe weather in the area, this event will take place as scheduled. Please dress accordingly.
