St. Paddy's Day Race #spring

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Over the last five decades, Special Olympics Tennessee (SOTN) has been advocating a powerful message: individuals with intellectual disabilities not only can but will thrive when provided with opportunities.

The St. Paddy’s Day Race benefitting Special Olympics Nashville is one of our biggest fundraisers that directly benefit our Nashville Athletes attending Summer Games in May. We are needing 30 volunteers, but any additional volunteers will earn our athletes extra donations. This event is so much fun to be a part of. The race participants always make this a fun event. Come out and spend the day as a company, family, or individual.

Volunteers will be placed in various roles. They can be handing out waters to runners at water stations along the course, course marshal for direction, and finish lines attendants handing out cups, medals, cookies. They will need to dress for the weather for this event and wear their favorite St. Paddy’s Day attire.

Volunteer hours for this event are set for the entire event from 7:00am- 12:30pm. Depending on the responsibility, shoft hours may vary. Shifts cannot be split but accommodations can be made. SOTN staff will contact you after registration to confirm these details.
