Shower Service Helper #spring
Shower the People’s primary purpose and mission is to show love by providing mobile shower facilities to unhoused individuals in the community. We believe that a shower is an essential part of a person’s well-being and self-worth. So many people do not have access to a simple shower, which many of us take for granted. A shower is essential for a person’s well-being. The ability to become physically clean restores dignity and opens the doors of opportunity, by way of jobs and housing.
We are looking for volunteers who can come to our shower services and assist with cleaning showers, setting up materials, and help facilitate a successful service. Volunteers may also assist with making hygiene kits, organizing clothes to distribute, and organizing the shower station; however, this is not a comprehensive list.
Ideal volunteers would be motivated, have a positive spirit, and be excited about assisting Shower the People with their mission. Individuals do not have to volunteer each Thursday; however, if possible, it is preferred. This is so the volunteers can build rapport with our shower guests.
This is a great opportunity if a person would like volunteer hours, or if they simply would like to assist their local Nashville community.
It is also important to keep in mind this volunteer opportunity may require standing for prolonged periods of time outside; however, all that is truly needed is a spirit and desire to lend a helping hand.
