DVL Training - Level 1 Disaster Volunteer Leader Orientation

When disaster strikes, Hands On partners with the city of Nashville and United Way of Greater Nashville to recruit and manage volunteers for recovery efforts. We rely on trained Disaster Volunteer Leaders to coordinate these efforts to make our disaster response as effective and efficient as possible. From leading volunteers as they clear debris to helping our team with administrative tasks, we need leaders like you to help us meet the unforeseen needs of survivors in our community.

This 60-minute orientation will cover:

  • Hands On's disaster responsibilities and disaster response program
  • Your role
  • Volunteer leadership
  • Standard operating procedures
  • What to expect before, during, and after a disaster occurs

The training will take place over Zoom. You will receive a link via email prior to the training.

After signing up, make sure your skills profile is up to date by clicking here. Pay close attention to the Disaster Response section of the form.

Disaster Volunteer Leaders were crucial to Hands On’s response efforts following the tornados, bombing, and floods – DVL’s will continue to be vital whenever the next disaster strikes. Thank you for being part of the team that helps Nashville come together when we need each other the most!
