Workshop: Intercultural Communication during Disasters

Learning how to communicate and share information before and after disasters is of great importance as our community continues to grow! Join us on September 28th to celebrate both National Preparedness and Hispanic Heritage Months.

In partnership with the Tennessee Language Center, this workshop is intended to increase understanding of how disasters impact the Hispanic Community, and equip volunteers with tools that will help support our neighbors in times of need. The topics that will be covered include: communication, terminology, and interpreting in crisis situations.

All volunteers enrolled in our Disaster Volunteer Leader program, bilingual volunteers, and anyone interested in supporting diverse communities in the wake of disasters are highly encouraged to attend!

Refreshments will be provided.
