After School Youth Program Volunteer
Nashville International Center for Empowerment is seeking volunteers that will assist students in after school activities to improve knowledge in school subject areas. This may include one-on-one tutoring, homework help, or other fun activities.
Volunteers will:
- Help cultivate English language proficiency through activities such as guided conversations and writing exercises
- Develop personal and community leadership ability through partnerships with outside community programs
- Use a Social and Emotional Learning curriculum to engage with students.
The program meets at several local middle schools including Margaret Allen, McMurray, and Wright Middle School on Mondays through Thursdays from 4-6 PM.
The Nashville International Center for Empowerment seeks to empower refugees and immigrants in the Nashville area by providing educational and social services. Services include ELL classes, employment assistance, immigration assistance, social adjustment, youth education services, and community education regarding refugees and immigrants.
