Opportunity Details

Middle School Meal Volunteer

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A MEAL VOLUNTEER: Becoming a volunteer for our afterschool program allows you the opportunity to serve middle school students by providing them with a basic need: a hot meal. We partner with Second Harvest who provide already cooked meals for us: they just need to be warmed.

Volunteers will:

  • Read the weekly menu found in our kitchen, find those meals in the refrigerator, and follow the warming instructions found on the refrigerator door.
  • There will be around 30 meals that need to be warmed and ready to go by 6:00.
  • Then you will help clean the kitchen to get ready for the next day.

ONBOARDING EXPECTATIONS: It is standard procedure at Dream Streets for our volunteers 18 and older to complete a background check. You are required to complete this before starting any volunteer role. Because of the nature of our work and mobile accessibility in our communities of service, you may come in contact with a minor even if the position you are volunteering for is not student oriented. We will send the link in an email after you complete this sign-up.

The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available. Here are the next available dates and times.
